HPN is producing temperate “husk pellet” (capacity: 20 ton/day). The pellet production is intended to serve:
i. Thousands of households in inner terai and urban areas who use tier 3 or above MICS
ii. Local industries using coal and other forms of fuel for boiler.
The other objectives of promoting this technology are:
i. To provide alternative biomass energy solution of firewood for the MICS user in peri-urban and terai communities facing limited supply of fire woods, and
ii. To help in reducing use of animal dung in terai
